Why Arthur’s Pike?
Arthur’s Pike is one of the Lake District’s classic Wainwrights, offering incredible views over Ullswater without the crowds found on some of the more famous fells. Starting from Pooley Bridge, this adventure combines a genuine mountain experience with a welcoming village where you can celebrate afterwards.

How difficult is Arthur’s Pike?
It’s a moderate family walk suitable for active children aged around 8 and over. We take a relaxed pace with plenty of breaks.
Do we need hiking boots?
Sturdy walking shoes or hiking boots are recommended.
What happens if the weather is poor?
If conditions are unsuitable, we’ll offer an alternative date or another appropriate route
Can we bring our dog?
Well-behaved dogs are welcome on selected private family adventures. Please contact us before booking so we can advise whether the chosen route is suitable.
What if my child gets tired?
Our adventures are designed to be relaxed and enjoyable, with plenty of breaks, games and encouragement along the way. We always adapt the pace to suit the group and focus on making the experience fun rather than rushing to the finish.
What do we need to bring?
- Sturdy trainers or walking boots
- Waterproof jacket and trousers (weather dependent)
- Warm layers, even in summer
- A small rucksack
- A filled water bottle
- A snack or packed lunch (depending on the adventure)
- Any personal medication your family may need
